Tuataras

There are about 60,000 little dinosaurs left in the world. These prickly little reptiles called Tuataras live in New Zealand (where I live). They have other nick-names like- 'living-fossils'. Probably because they are on permanent slow-mo. Man it takes them about half a day to catch a fly for lunch!

One famous Tuatara, Henry, has just become the oldest celeb I know. He's a first time Dad at 111 years old. Henry and Mildred finally started a family after a 25 year rough patch (he did bite her tail off). All of their 11 eggs hatched into baby tuatara this summer, and are doing well.

Not a bad effort for a couple of 'living fossils'...

News Flash - a man was caught trying to smuggle 20 rare skinks and geckos (lizards) out of New Zealand. And where do you think he had them concealed (big word for hidden)? In his suitcase? Yes there was one wrapped in a sock. But where were the other 19 - in his laptop bag? No. They were in his underpants, in a special pouch. I really hope this lizard smuggler gets a big telling off. It must have been really hot down there.
